Milwaukee's Newest Wedding Venues

Lately there have been so many new wedding venues popping up in the Milwaukee area and we have gotten the chance to visit and work with quite a few of them. We have compiled a list, because trust us, you are going to want to check them out!

Pioneer Creek Farm

We had the privilege of coordinating Pioneer Creek Farm’s very first wedding last year and wow, the views are breathtaking! Located in Lomira, this family owned farm sits on 80 acres and features a beautifully restored barn with chandeliers and string lights, which creates the perfect ambience for a rustic yet chic reception. The barn doors open to reveal a stunning backdrop of the rolling hills which is ideal for capturing amazing wedding pictures. The farm also features two unique ceremony spots: a giant maple tree located directly across from the barn that looks out over the entire property, or the large pond complete with dramatic 8 foot antique doors and a pergola at the water’s edge. They even have a llama that kids (and kids at heart) can feed and interact with. This property is a must see if you are looking for a gorgeous outdoor wedding surrounded by the beauty of nature and a newly restored barn with porch views to top it off.

Terrace 167

Terrace 167 opened in the fall of 2016 and has been a very popular wedding location from the start. With 10,000 feet of event space to utilize, this Richfield location features a lounge area, two large full service bars, banquet hall, dance area, bridal suite, groomsmen suite, coat room, 3 large screen TV’s, and an outdoor patio. There is a large, garage style door that can open up on a nice day to allow fresh air in and leads right onto the patio space. The building offers a unique industrial rustic feel with wood floors and tables and metal accents. There are more subtle romantic touches as well such as wooden ladders with floral details propped against the wall and cute painted signs with sayings like “Best Day Ever.” Even the bathrooms have incredible detail with intricate signage, decorative pieces, and individualized powder room stations with vanity lighting for the bride and bridesmaids to freshen up. It is definitely a venue that will leave a memorable impression on your guests!

The Atrium

Shorewood gained an exciting new wedding venue in 2016 when The Atrium opened its doors. The space exudes a modern industrial feel with textured terra cotta colored clay brick walls and rustic wood beams. Natural lighting saturates the room from the skylight above but the real showstopper is the large crystal chandelier fixture that glitters directly below the skylight. This elegant piece is encased by a modern spherical wire sculpture which gives it an edge. As if the main floor wasn’t breathtaking enough, The Atrium also features an upstairs rooftop with lush gardens overlooking the city. It is the perfect setting for an intimate outdoor ceremony or cocktail hour. This is must see if you are looking for a fun, trendy indoor/outdoor space with sophisticated touches and elements of nature tied in.

The Landing 1841

The Landing 1841 has a rich historic background in Burlington stemming back to, you guessed it, 1841 when the property was bought and made private land. One of the owners was a conductor of the Underground Railroad, utilizing the land as a hiding place for runaway slaves making their way north to Canada. Fast forward to the present day and the property features breathtaking views of the White River, plentiful lush trees, and beautiful floral accents. The stunning chandeliers in the inside of the barn give an heir of romantic elegance. There is also a wraparound porch which is ideal for hosting a cocktail hour and taking in the gorgeous views of the property. This venue is one to check out if you’re looking for a more sophisticated barn location with lots of outdoor space and a touch of Southern charm.

Surg On The Water

Located in Milwaukee’s Third Ward, Surg On The Water features a deck with private bar which overlooks the Milwaukee River and is large enough to comfortably seat 200 people. In addition, there is a nautically themed interior room with carpeted floors and brick beams which can seat up to 240 guests. Couples can take advantage of Surg’s cuisine or choose food from one of its sister restaurants which include Carnevor, Umami Moto, HOM Wood Fired Grill, Distil, MiKey’s, and Gouda’s. They even have an automated self-serve wine dispenser! This venue is perfect if you want to be in the heart of downtown Milwaukee and take advantage of the amazing city and waterfront views.

Mercantile Hall

You can’t get much newer than this Burlington wedding venue, Mercantile Hall, opening in Spring 2017. The building used to be a mercantile (old mall) and was transformed into a department store and then a furniture store. In 2014, a huge 5-alarm fire overtook the building. As restoration crews cleared the debris, they discovered original hardwood floors intact underneath fireproof polyester covering. The space now displays those amazing wood floors along with exposed brick walls which allow the room to take on different looks including industrial, vintage, modern, rustic, or artsy. This is the ideal location if you’re looking for a brand new space to make your own.

The Box

This venue is truly unlike any other in the area. Located in the heart of downtown Milwaukee, The Box features 3,000 square feet of loft-style space that is completely customizable to your vision for your big day.  Their open floor plan allows for limitless opportunities on what you can turn the space into, making it as simple or extravagant as you desire. The room does feature a large (and movable) custom bar along with a big collection of various furniture and accessories to choose from. The foundation of the space includes dark wooden floors with beige walls and a brick accent wall that all blend well together. Contemporary light fixtures hang from the ceiling and small chandelier fixtures are displayed in the front of the room by the doorway. This space is great if you have a specific vision of what you want and need a blank canvas to bring your design concept to life.

The View at Evolution

Evolution is a historic three-story building in Milwaukee with a renovated urban feel and The View at Evolution features an enclosed rooftop venue as well as outdoor space that provides amazing views of the city skyline. The inside area has a modern feel and includes a bar and wooden tables with metal barstools. Rows of windows on the three surrounding walls bring in lots of natural lighting and lovely views. The outside space has a very relaxed lounge feel with contemporary couches and pillows spread out among lush green plants and foliage. This venue would be suitable if you are looking to stun your guests with a breathtaking view of the city while having a more swanky, lounge feel to your wedding celebration.

South Second

South Second has partnered with Saz’s Catering to bring a new, trendy wedding spot to Walker’s Point. Three large, clear garage door style windows make up a main wall and can lift up to let in fresh air. The opposite wall features a statement piece with wooden slats as a background to metal screen fixtures which gives the space some interest. The ceiling boasts two huge metal intertwining rings that give a romantic nod to two wedding rings intertwined. Tucked away in the back of the room is an upstairs lounge area where you could host a photo booth for guests to enjoy or use it as a more intimate space for guests to unwind. Add this to your list if you are looking for a modern and industrial venue.

The Garden

The Garden is truly a one of a kind venue. It has a very chic, clean, and modern aesthetic with an extravagant contemporary sculpture comprised of many individual beams that intertwine throughout the entire room along the walls and ceiling. Uplighting creates a really breathtaking effect on the space. This venue will give guests a truly immersive experience they’ve never before encountered at a wedding. The space also features an upstairs lounge area directly above the bar where you can get away and look out over the guests. This is definitely a place to check out if you’re more artsy and want to leave your guests talking about an extraordinary venue and ambience!
