Back in summer I noticed that a new wedding venue was under construction in Richfield, WI – Terrace 167. There were only a few pictures online, but it looked really unique. Right away my good friend, Melissa Bucci, and I decided we needed to go see it and plan a styled shoot there. So we invited Joe Hang, who would be the photographer for the shoot, and scheduled a time to visit about a week later.
We met the owner, Terry, who is just as sweet as can be. She showed us around and the venue was even more amazing than it looked in pictures! This 10,000 sq. ft. venue has so many great industrial details throughout. Each area we toured was better than the next. They even went all out in decorating the suites for the bridal party to get ready in (a huge plus for anyone getting married there!). There are two huge bars in the center, a lounge area off to one side, and a beautiful outdoor space for ceremonies. They also provide really nice wooden tables and chairs (one less thing to rent!).
We scheduled a shoot for the soonest available time – the week that construction was scheduled to be complete. Melissa and I went to work assembling a great team of vendors and our inspiration for the shoot. It was easy to determine we would focus on the industrial attributes of the venue and bring that into some of the other details such as the copper colored dishes, lanterns, and candlestick holders made from pipefittings. We chose marsala for our main accent color as this was a fall shoot (plus who doesn’t love marsala right now?).
We found a really great couple, Ashley and Jason, to model for us. The best part was this shoot took place just before their one-year wedding anniversary! Ashley wore a beautiful light gold Maggie Sottero gown, Kylie, from Bucci’s Bridal. Jason wore a navy tux, complete with a marsala bow tie and suspenders, from Dubois Formalwear.
One of my favorite details was the 4-foot tall custom-made marquee letters provided by EZPZ Marquee.
We had to utilize those copper mugs and enjoy some Moscow Mules!
It's hard to choose which pictures to share because they all turned out amazing, but here are some of my favs:
It’s no surprise to hear how quickly this venue booked up for the 2017 wedding season. I’m very much looking forward to the weddings I have booked there next year!
Thank you to all of the amazing vendors involved in this shoot:
