Amanda & Tamur's Wedding at The Copperage

Amanda and Tamur first met as kids in middle school, but they actually started dating in their junior year of high school. They dated long distance through college while Amanda attended college in Madison and Tamur stayed in Milwaukee. Ten years and one day after they first started dating, Tamur proposed to Amanda at Kohler-Andrae State Park and she said yes!

The couple brought their love of Milwaukee and their cultures into their wedding day to make it even more memorable. For the ceremony, they used a family Persian rug and had some photos taken in traditional Persian attire as well. During the wedding, they had a beer unity ceremony which was a fun twist on other unity ceremonies we’ve seen.

At the reception, they used Milwaukee landmarks for their table numbers and included photos of them at each landmark on the table. As another fun nod to the city they love, they had guests sign a Milwaukee flag for their guest book. Dinner was a build your own taco buffet and it was delicious! To bring in more of Tamur’s culture, they served baklava for dessert which the guests loved!

Cheers to the happy couple and we are so grateful for this wonderful review!

Krista was an invaluable part of our wedding planning process! With her extensive experience in the industry she was able to make quick and vetted recommendations for everything we needed, which saved us hours and hours of research and back-and-forth.

Perhaps most importantly though, she made the wedding day itself so much better than it would have been without her. She did an amazing job coordinating vendors, the wedding party, setting up, etc., so that we were able to just relax and enjoy our day.

Absolutely recommend her and the team at Weddings With A Twist for your planning and coordination needs!
